Evolution teaches that man is an evolved animal, that death has always been a part of earth’s history, and that death is the end for each of us. Sadly, this belief has permeated modern culture and has become one of the most popular ways that people rationalize a lifestyle of sin. Although it has major scientific flaws, evolution is widely accepted because the alternative–a Creator God and the responsibility that comes with it–is something that most people are not willing to accept. And so evolution remains a popular belief for scientists and non-scientists alike.
However, the Bible paints a very different picture of life. Jesus Christ is the Creator of the entire world and everything in it. The sin of Adam, the first man, resulted in God’s curse on all of creation, which we feel today in death, disease, suffering, and pain. We need to take life and death very, very seriously and realize that death has a 100% success rate, meaning that you and I, too, will die some day. We all are born sinners, and unless we are cured of the disease of sin, will end up forever in the Lake of Fire, a place of eternal death, torment, and suffering. The prevalence of homosexuality, pornography, blasphemy, deceit,, and so many other sins in our culture is a sad reminder of just how desperate the human condition is without Christ. The curse we experience here on earth of death, disease, suffering, and pain is only a taste of what life is like without God. Hell is so much worse.
Because God loved us so much, he sent Jesus Christ, His only son, to earth to die for our sins. Jesus Christ is the Creator of the universe, and yet He allowed His own creation–man–to crucify Him. He died in our place, paying the ransom for our souls. He was buried, and on the third day, He rose again, conquering sin, death, and the grave! Because of Christ’s victory, we can be cleansed of our sins and spend forever with Christ in a perfect, sinless, and pure place called Heaven. Our requirement is that we repent of our sins, believe in Jesus Christ with all our hearts, and accept Him into our heart and life. If we refuse Christ, we refuse the only hope of salvation from the eternal judgment to come. Jesus Christ is the only way to Heaven. Are you ready for Judgment Day?
