Isaiah 40:5
Isaiah 26:10
Response
First, there is a difference between “see” and “behold,” and with “glory” and “majesty.” To “behold” something is much more involved than to simply “see” something. Second, the glory and majesty of the LORD is so incredible that it would take an eternity to fully comprehend it. Just because the wicked see the glory of the LORD for a time does not mean that they really saw everything about the glory of the LORD.
For example, if I drive through the state of Pennsylvania, I may say that I “saw” the state; but until I actually visit many places in Pennsylvania, I haven’t actually seen (or “beheld”) it. Likewise, although the wicked will see the glory of the LORD for a time, it will be so short that they will not really behold it.
