"Was Moses meek or not?" (Alleged Contradiction #E9623)
(Now the man Moses was very meek, above all the men which were upon the face of the earth.)

Numbers 12:3

And Moses was wroth with the officers of the host, with the captains over thousands, and captains over hundreds, which came from the battle. And Moses said unto them, Have ye saved all the women alive? Behold, these caused the children of Israel, through the counsel of Balaam, to commit trespass against the LORD in the matter of Peor, and there was a plague among the congregation of the LORD. Now therefore kill every male among the little ones, and kill every woman that hath known man by lying with him. But all the women children, that have not known a man by lying with him, keep alive for yourselves.

Numbers 31:14-18

Response

Moses was meek but could also become righteously angry.  Jesus commands us to be meek, 1 2 but He also commanded us to be righteously angry. 3  Jesus is meek 4 but can also be righteously angry. 5

    Now the man Moses was very meek, above all men. Num.12.

    2. Appropriately,humble, in an evangelical sense; submissive to the divine will; not proud, self-sufficient or refractory; not peevish and apt to complain of divine dispensations. Christ says, “Learn of me, for I am meek and lowly in heart, and ye shall find rest to your souls.” Matt.11.
