"Who succeeded Jehoiakim as king?" (Alleged Contradiction #E2602)
So Jehoiakim slept with his fathers: and Jehoiachin his son reigned in his stead.
II Kings 24:6
Therefore thus saith the LORD of Jehoiakim king of Judah; He shall have none to sit upon the throne of David: and his dead body shall be cast out in the day to the heat, and in the night to the frost.
Jeremiah 36:30
Response
Jehoiakim had none to sit upon the throne of David within three months of his death. Shortly after his son Jehoiachin began his reign, Nebuchadnezzar besieged the city, took Jehoiachin captive, and made another king in his place (II Kings 24:8, II Kings 24:15). Thus, the prophecy was fulfilled shortly after Jehoiakim’s death.
