These lists are not contradictory. Two children were not born when II Samuel 5:14-16 was written (Eliphelet and Nogah), and the other differences are alternate spellings (Shammua/Shimea, Elishua/Elishama, Eliphelet/Elpalet) and one nickname (Eliada/Beeliada). 1
