"When was King Jabin killed?" (Alleged Contradiction #E9727)
The Bible talks about a Jabin, king of Hazor, killed by Joshua (Joshua 11:1, 10-11). However, later the Bible talks about a Jabin, king of Hazor, who was killed long after Joshua’s death (Judges 1:1, Judges 3:11, 30; Judges 4:2, 24). So when did Jabin, king of Hazor, die?
Response
These are two separate battles and two separate kings. Both were kings of Hazor, and both were named Jabin.
Lots of people have the same names, and so it is no surprise that two kings of Hazor would have the same name.
