II Kings 9:2
And Jehu the son of Nimshi shalt thou anoint to be king over Israel: and Elisha the son of Shaphat of Abelmeholah shalt thou anoint to be prophet in thy room.
I Kings 19:16
Response
In the Bible, the term “father” is often used for ancestor (e.g., grandfather), not just for an immediate father. Even in our culture we have this somewhat: we call people grandfathers and grandsons, or we might say that Adam is the “father” of the human race, or that Eve is the “mother” of all living.
