"Where was Jacob buried?" (Alleged Contradiction #E3904)
For his [Jacob’s] sons carried him into the land of Canaan, and buried him in the cave of the field of Machpelah, which Abraham bought with the field for a possession of a buryingplace of Ephron the Hittite, before Mamre.
Genesis 50:13
So Jacob went down into Egypt, and died, he, and our fathers, and were carried over into Sychem, and laid in the sepulchre that Abraham bought for a sum of money of the sons of Emmor the father of Sychem.
Acts 7:15-16
Response
Jacob was buried “in the cave of the field of Machpelah.” Acts 7:15-16 does not say where Jacob was buried, just that he died and was later carried into Sychem. 1 Furthermore, Machpelah is the name of a field, not a city. Thus, there is no contradiction.
