If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.

Response
Asa could have killed the sodomites; the fact that he “took away the sodomites out of the land” does not imply exile—it could be execution. Furthermore, even if Asa merely exiled them, this would still be “right” when compared with doing nothing, though not ideal. God instituted the death penalty for sodomy, and governmental law would benefit from God’s example.
