"Where did God kill Uzza?" (Alleged Contradiction #E9315)
And when they came to Nachon’s threshingfloor, Uzzah put forth his hand to the ark of God, and took hold of it; for the oxen shook it.
II Samuel 6:6
And when they came unto the threshingfloor of Chidon, Uzza put forth his hand to hold the ark; for the oxen stumbled.
I Chronicles 13:9
Response
II Samuel 6:6 says that the floor belonged to someone named Nachor. I Chronicles 13:9 states that it was “of Chidon”–perhaps the name of a small village, or maybe Chidon was a person who owned it in the past. It is not uncommon for places today to go by multiple names because of their history, or because different groups of people sometimes call places by different names.
