Response
We are to fear only God and nothing else.
However, the fear we have for God is not the same as irrational fears that we have of other things. God is perfect and keeps His Word. When we love and obey Him, then we have great comfort in God’s promises because we know God’s character is perfect. We should still feel fear (even terror) if we think about disobeying God, but when we are close to Him, we feel great peace.
