Response
Yes, Christians still sin. However, they do not sin in the same way as the unsaved.
I John speaks of “a sin which is not unto death” and a “sin unto death” (I John 5:16-17). The sin referred to in I John 3:9 may be the sin unto death. Or, the sin discussed may be a lifestyle of sin. Christ’s work in our lives as Christians certainly changes our attitude toward sin, and although Christians still sin and are not perfect, they do not live the same sinful lifestyle that they did before. We have repented of our sin and have trusted Christ with our lives, and so we live much differently than the world.
