If the universe were the result of an explosion and chance random processes, we should not expect that the universe would be logical and orderly. However, we find that it is. This is excellent evidence 1 not only for a Creator, but also for the fact that this same Creator is logical and orderly Himself.
This is sometimes called the ultimate proof, because for a skeptic to argue against it, he must use this logic and order in his arguments (in other words, he must use logic and order–the evidence for a Creator–in an attempt to argue against a Creator). 2 Even atheists must borrow from the Christian worldview when they perform science. 3

Notes
- McGrath, 2007, p. 31: “For instance, the Oxford philosopher Richard Swinburne is one of many writers to argue that the capacity of science to explain itself requires explanation–and that the most economical and reliable account of this explanatory capacity lies in the notion of a Creator God.
Swinburne’s argument asserts that the intelligibility of the universe itself needs explanation. It is therefore not the gaps in our understanding of the world which point to God but rather the very comprehensibility of scientific and other forms of understanding that requires and explanation. In brief, the argument is that explicability itself requires explanation. The more scientific advance is achieved, the greater will be our understanding of the universe–and hence the greater need to explain this very success. It is an approach which commends and encourages scientific investigation, not seeks to inhibit it.” ↩

- Calle, 2009, p. 103: “This assumption is nothing more than Einstein’s principle of relativity, which says that the laws of physics are the same everywhere in the universe. The principle of relativity is at the heart of science since, without it, we simply couldn’t discover the way nature works. If the laws of physics change in time or space, the universe would be completely unpredictable. If the laws of physics change, the electromagnetic radiation arriving at our radio telescopes from Jupiter would not tell us anything about the planet’s composition or temperature.” ↩
