"Should we rejoice when our enemies suffer?" (Alleged Contradiction #E9112)
The righteous shall rejoice when he seeth the vengeance: he shall wash his feet in the blood of the wicked.
Psalm 58:10
Rejoice not when thine enemy falleth, and let not thine heart be glad when he stumbleth …
Proverbs 24:17
Response
The Bible says that the righteous shall rejoice (in the future). God has not executed His vengeance yet; but when He does, the righteous will rejoice. In the meantime, however, we are to love and pray for our enemies.
