"Who was the father of Kish?" (Alleged Contradiction #E8298)
Now there was a man of Benjamin, whose name was Kish, the son of Abiel, the son of Zeror, the son of Bechorath, the son of Aphiah, a Benjamite, a mighty man of power.
I Samuel 9:1
And Ner begat Kish, and Kish begat Saul, and Saul begat Jonathan, and Malchishua, and Abinadab, and Eshbaal.

Abiel is actually the grandfather of Kish, not the immediate father. In biblical language it is common for an ancestor to be referred to as a “father,” even if not the immediate father.
