The Bible says that Joseph was not the biological father of Jesus (Matthew 1:18, Luke 1:31-35). However, other verses say that Jesus was a physical descendant of David (Acts 2:30, Acts 13:23, Romans 1:3, II Timothy 2:8, Hebrews 2:16, and Revelation 22:16).
Response
These verses state that Jesus is a physical descendant of David or Abraham, not Joseph. If you compare the lineages in Luke 3:23-38 and Matthew 1:1-16, you will see that both lineages trace back through David and Abraham. Thus, Mary and Joseph are descendants of David, and so Jesus Christ, though not the son of Joseph, is still the son of David through Mary.
