"What did they give Jesus to drink at His crucifixion?" (Alleged Contradiction #E8721)
They gave him vinegar to drink mingled with gall: and when he had tasted thereof, he would not drink.
Matthew 27:34
And they gave him to drink wine mingled with myrrh: but he received it not. … And one ran and filled a spunge full of vinegar, and put it on a reed, and gave him to drink, saying, Let alone; let us see whether Elias will come to take him down.
Mark 15:23, 36
Response
They tried to give Jesus two drinks, one of vinegar mixed with gall, and the other wine mixed with myrrh. Jesus refused them both.
In fact, Mark records both attempts (Mark 15:23, Mark 15:36). There is no contradiction.
