Romans 5:12
I Timothy 2:14
Response
Eve was deceived, or tricked, into sinning. On the other hand, Adam was not deceived—he knew exactly what he was doing (I Timothy 2:14). Thus, Adam was much more responsible than Eve, and sin passed upon all men through Adam, and he is ultimately responsible.
When the serpent deceived Eve, Adam was with Eve (Genesis 3:6: “her husband with her“), and yet we read nothing that he did to stop Eve from disobeying. God directly told Adam not to eat of this tree (Genesis 2:16), while Eve was apparently relayed the command by Adam. Since Adam was not tricked, he was much more responsible for the sin than Eve, and death entered the world through him, not through Eve.
