The animals on the Ark had enough genetic diversity to produce all the species today.
Genetics tends to get worse over time, not better. The animals on the Ark still had really good genes, allowing them to produce all the variety we see today.
This is actually a great evidence against evolution. Evolutionists believe that all of life came from a single living thing. If they believe that the 960 or so kinds on the Ark would go extinct because they did not have enough genetic diversity, they are actually arguing against their own position. We believe that genetics tends toward decay over time, which is consistent with the Bible.
