Rate of strata deposition

1. Slowly, the layers representing millions of years of time
2. Quickly, with all layers being laid down rapidly (as in a local flood)

Evolutionists present #1 to the public, even using the number of layers as evidence for long ages.  However, when the data does not fit (as with polystrate fossils), they respond with #2.  Using these two methods, they can explain almost any fossil scenario, making evolution a messy theory, not a clean, consistent scientific one.
